“Doubt” will be Kirk’s debut release due late summer 2019. The drop will include writing and vocals by Casey Desmond’s CMB, as well as throwback acid-inspired remixes by Terminal Shock (Oakland). Adam Kaplan co-host of "Are We Still Talking About This," writer/producer NETFLIX originals, says Kirk’s music is “suspiciously invigorating and highly listenable.” We couldn’t agree more. His productions are perfectly manicured, and his ability to manipulate sound using digital instrumentation is remarkable, to say the least. After spending his musical years in punk bands, he's equipped to go solo, and electronic to boot. Stay tuned for this ketamine infused collaboration.
MLE’s debut single ‘Evaporate’ is a dynamic, dark earworm about harnessing inner power in order to overcome life’s many obstacles. The song features production, synth melodies and ethereal vocal harmonies by CMB, who co-wrote the track shortly after meeting MLE. The single is accompanied by a video and five remixes that are available for purchase by digital download.
CMB / SYNTHIA, ANDRE OBIN, HELIXHAND & DJ CAIRN BARROW - DEC 21st, 2018
JUNGLE UP wrapped up the year with the first annual Holiday Pop Crush, a showcase of our artists and friends.
Our night started off with the synth mastery of Helixhand (Ashley Capachione), a visionary sound/video artist and electronic music producer who has released music with Phantasma Disques, Cleopatra Records, Apothecary Compositions, Haute Magie Records and Unspeakable Records, and who has performed at SXSW, Together Festival, and Discwoman. She left us wanting much more with her short-but-sexy set.
Wrapped in a veil of neon lights and smoke and surrounded by a slick set up of synthesizers, Andre Obin played his solo set of solid hits including ‘Loaded Soul’ and ‘Cinnamon’. Obin sounded like a modern pop twist on classic 80’s sounds.
The evening was headlined by sister act CMB ft. SYNTHIA. They were joined by JUNGLE UP label mates Jimmy Rossi Jr. of AVOXBLUE and Nikolas. The tracks were “dense, industrial pop epics with a slight Eastern tinge”, their live set has been known to “ envelope the crowd” with “shimmering and uplifting and perfectly tailored to the chillout tents of America”, according to Boston Hassle.
Our very own house DJ Cairn Barrow played a chill blend of downtempo, and house throughout the entirety of the night. We felt blessed to bliss out to his manicured sets. As expected, the jams kept people on their feet ‘til sunrise.
